Do you do custom designs?
Yes, in fact I love designing tattoos for my clients ensuring they are one of a kind!
The best thing to do is to email me all of your ideas and visual references before your consultation appointment to - tattoosandfortune@gmail.com Please do keep in mind that my expertise is a combination of Blackwork (using black ink only to create bold line work mixed with with dot and textures) Black and Grey Realism, Fine-line, and American Traditional tattoo styles.

Do I need to have a consultation before my tattoo appointment?
Yes, most tattoos need to be pre-measured to fit your body correctly. At your consultation we will also sketch out the design together and book you in for your tattoo appointment.

What references should I send and how much info do you need?
Please be sure to send me as many references and specifics of your desired tattoo as possible.  I ensure clear and detailed communication about your tattoo during your consultation in person or via email so we are both on the same page.   I generally spend 3 - 5 hours on design art.  At your appointment small changes are ok as long as they still work with the composition of your design and don’t take more then 10 minutes to re-draw but adding all new ideas or major composition changes to your tattoo would require another deposit.

Can you send me the Art before my appointment?
Art is not available until the day of your appointment but I ensure a thorough and detailed Consultation with you in person or via email before I begin your design.  It can be difficult to clearly explain how things will fit and flow with your body via email when you only see an weirdly drawn outline that is a guide for my artist eyes and nothing like the tattoo will actually look like. This can cause unnecessary stress to both parties. Please refer to my instagram @magdalenasky for my latest work, which will showcase for you my style of work and what you can expect your tattoo to look like.

How does an Appointment Only Parlour operate?
Tattoos and Fortune is open for clients who have made appointments only.  I do not take walk-ins but I am more then happy to speak with you via email and arrange a consultation or appointment time with you.  Being an appointment only parlour allows me to focus 100% on my client’s comfort and tattoo design.

Can I share my personal stories of past traumatic events with you?
I ask that my clients please refrain from sharing personal stories of past trauma with me. I am a highly sensitive empathic person who has a very hard time letting other people’s sad stories out of my head at the end of the day, and sometimes I carry other people’s sadness for weeks. It is exhausting, draining and at the time of your appointment makes it hard for me to concentrate on your tattoo and do my best work if my mind and emotions are distracted with these sad stories. If unsure please ask if you can share, I will do the same. I love getting to know my clients and learning about their lives! Some stories are just a little harder to hear than others. Thank you for understanding.

Do you fix Tattoos done by other Artists?
Yes I do, if the tattoo can be fixed.  My rate for this is $260 per hour +tax.

How should I prepare for my Tattoo Appointment?
It is vital to be well rested and to have a good meal before your tattoo appointment.  Wear comfortable and clean clothing.  Please do not show up intoxicated, this includes being stoned. You will not be tattooed if you are intoxicated and you will have to leave a new deposit for a new appointment.  Please do not drink the night before or take aspirin as this will thin your blood and make it harder for the ink the stay in your skin.

I’m running late…
If you are more then 15 minutes late to your appointment a new appointment time will have to be scheduled and a new deposit paid. Lateness interferes with my other client’s booked appointment times and I do not want to be rushed through anyone’s tattoos. Seattle always has traffic, please leave your house with plenty of time to have a little rest, grab a coffee or food before your appointment time so you are not late.

Can I bring my friends to video or photograph my tattoo experience?
In general I do allow 1 friend only with you to your appointment.  Because I am an appointment only small Parlor I prefer to have as little distraction as possible so my clients have 100% of my attention and we can work together to create a beautiful Tattoo. I ask that friends stay in the waiting area during the Tattoo process.  1 or 2 photos are permitted but I do not permit video or multiple photos of my studio to avoid distraction.  Please don’t let your partner kiss you, touch you, massage you, or explain my profession to you while you are getting tattooed. Thank you for understanding this.

How do I look after my Tattoo?
Aftercare information will always be given to you after your appointment.  Make sure you take a few days off after being tattooed if your job requires you to wear restrictive clothing directly on your tattoo.  While the tattoo is healing please do not wear restrictive clothing or anything that will rub directly on the wound to avoid infection or your new tattoo healing badly.  It is up to you ultimately how you will look after your fresh tattoo once you leave the Parlour, but most importantly remember it is a fresh Wound.

How much do your tattoos cost?
My hourly rate is $220 per hour +tax and $260 per hour +tax for fixing existing tattoos from other artists.  My shop minimum is $80 +tax, I also take a deposit of $200 for ongoing pieces, $100 for all large appointments and $50 for all small appointments.  The deposit is non-refundable, but does come out of the total amount of your final tattoo session.  I require 72 hours cancellation notice for appointments if you would like your deposit to carry over to your new appointment date.

How many times can I postpone my tattoo appointment before losing my deposit?
Tattoo Appointments can be postponed once before your deposit is lost and a new deposit must be made. Postponing a Tattoo Appointment still needs to be done with at least 72hours notice as not to lose your deposit.

Will I get a discount if I do a bunch of little tattoos in one sitting?
Small tattoos are charged as individual pieces (at a reasonable rate), not by time.

How much do your Tarot readings cost and can I have a reading and tattoo done at the same time?
Tarot Readings are $100 per hour and $60 for half hour.  Written correspondence readings are $120. I prefer to keep the Tarot and Tattoos separate so I can focus on your tattoo or reading completely.  I do however make exceptions for travelers, doing readings on the same day as their tattoo.

What is your availability?
Please note I am an appointment only studio so am not always there.  Tattoo appointments are generally booked from 12pm - 10pm. Days I’m available vary as I am also a full-time student.  Please keep in mind though, I am generally booked out roughly 6 weeks in advance.

Autism?
Absolutely! :) I have Asperger’s Syndrome and am a proud advocate for the recognition and acceptance of neurodivergence in a predominantly neurotypical world. Sensory Processing Sensitivity is taken into consideration at Tattoos and Fortune for everyone’s comfort and experience. As are communication preferences.
